All first time belayers and climbers are given free tuition to get started.
COACHING
The Climbing Edge can organise professional coaching with our qualified staff for individuals or small groups. All coaches hold NCAS qualifications and Certificate IV (Outdoor Recreation) attainments and are appropriately insured.
Beginner climbers are welcome.

JUNIOR LEARN TO CLIMB
We offer a six week learn to climb course for children aged 6 and over. The course is run each school term. Each climber needs to bring along a belayer over the age of 12. There is no charge for the belayer, so long as they don’t climb and it doesn’t matter if they haven’t belayed before. Belayer instruction is included in the course.

LEAD BELAY/CLIMB – Artificial Surfaces
The Climbing Edge offers lead climbing facilities. We only allow belay on ATC. Please don’t use GriGri or any similar devices or figure 8/other descent devices for belay for lead climbing.
All lead belayers and climbers must be assessed and/or participate in a lead belay/climb course. These courses are conducted approximately every 3 weeks on Monday evenings (though we occasionally run them on other days). The course takes about 3 hours and is run by our Certificate IV qualified staff. The course is only applicable to Artificial Surfaces.
We supply all equipment for the course, though you are welcome to bring your own.
Cost: $35.00 per student including assessment.
CLIMBING LEADERSHIP – Supervise Climbing/Abseil Groups – Artificial Surfaces
Certificate IV Statement of Attainment National Training Package
This course is ideal for teachers, group leaders and anyone who supervises/instructs participants in the use of artificial climbing surfaces.
The Climbing Edge is a partnered Registered Training Organisation. We conduct these courses regularly and accreditation is issued under the National Training Package and is acceptable for insurance purposes.
